Dave Bushy has inspired a generation of young leaders, in aviation, academia and the nonprofit world.  He began his career in 1979 as a line pilot for Delta Air Lines. Today, he is one of the most respected former airline executives in the country, with extensive experience in operations, training and safety.  Along the way in his career, Dave was helped by mentors and coaches, assisting him in the transition from a technically-focused professional to a business executive who could effectively bring his skills and experience to bear in order to achieve team and organizational success.

Dave is an executive coach, certified by the Gestalt International Study Center and International Coaching Federation (ACC).   He has extensive experience mentoring and coaching young leaders. His value is experience, credibility and an ability to connect with leaders.

Dave’s approach is one of understanding and respecting the culture of an organization and working with leaders to build awareness of their own developmental needs and those of their companies – in the process helping them to define and implement meaningful action and lasting change.

Dave served as the Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Delta Air Lines and Vice President of Flight Operations at JetBlue. He rounded out his career as President/ COO of Cape Air/ Nantucket Airlines. During the course of a 35-year career, Dave has been a leader in transforming cultures and facilitating change in the aviation industry.

Dave is a board member and past president of the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), which accredits collegiate aviation programs throughout the world. He is a member of the Aero Club of New England and serves on a number of University Aviation Advisory Boards.   He currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida. Dave is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Cape Cod Community College and is currently assisting them in establishing an Aviation Maintenance Technician Program.
